Why Enterprenuer’s Face Problems Sustaining Their Businesses

I get so busy doing what I do that I get no time to live off what I do. Most of us are in a business we physically do, as a result we have limited our income because we only have two hands. We get so busy doing it and we don’t get time to grow it. When I started out Faraja Africa, I had to be everything as an Enterprenuer. Had to be the leadership, marketing, development, book keeping, mapping, planning, you name it. This was because of limited resources as a result of a small budget, I was a one man team with no staff to pass it to. I ended up getting super exhausted. Which is unlike for the CEO who passes the on work to other people hence making them accountable to him. “All busyness is not related to business which makes it a distraction.” ~T.D Jakes. You have to be focus on what is important & profitable for business. You have to reserve your self for the highest & best use. Note that your best use isn’t doing it, it’s running it. The problem of doing it your self is that you start thinking you do it better than anyone else, even if you had a team, your standards are too high that non of your team can handle. You need to get back a little and get your heart (emotions) out of your business and use your brain. Empower your team to do the work as you run things with the right motive and purpose of cause. Uganda is one of the largest Enterprenuer countries in the world. But most business do not stand to see their next year. And one of the biggest reasons is that many people start business to address their…

Open Letter to Mother, This Day is Special With You. #MothersDay

Dear Mother, Who else is more precious & special than you? There are no words to describe my feeling for you; I cannot even attempt to explain the magnitude of your gracious love. You faced the winds when men & others tried to insult you or broke your heart while growing up, it should have broken you {maybe} but you still made it. You walked through fire when the world condemned you when you error, but you flew above it all. You conceived me, maybe I will not know how much trouble you went through, but I can only the pain, emotions, risks & challenges you went through & still. From the first day you conceived me, you had chance to take a pill or even abort me so you may save yourself from your pain. Nevertheless, you did not; you selflessly gave up your comfort for all those years & chose to pro-created me. Shielded me from all the winds, storm, fires, hunger, and more… You further sacrificed every resource you had so just you may buy me a life you probably could not afford for yourself. That old ‘Gomesi’ dress you wore & still ware for over 10 years bring tears in my eyes knowing that you gave up your luxury to give me gifts on every birthday that came & are to come. Mother, I am speechless because of your unconditional love just leaves tears of joy role down my eyes leaving me breathless without words. You are amazing, you are my Wonder Woman, my Super Human, My Super Hero and the Star in my Avengers life story. My Guardian Angel, Protector of my Body & Soul. If I have not said it enough Mother, I LOVE YOU. I promise you, I will always strive to be…

7 Steps On How To Turn Your Life Around

There came a point in life were you seem not to have control over where your life is leading. You know you are headed the wrong direction but still blindly follow along because maybe you gave up on your self & have no idea how to turn things around. Yet you deeply desire to turn things around. My early life has been a maze, I did the same things every time & expected different results. As a result, I was poor, insignificant in society, disappointed my parents, my relationships sucked, even my own siblings disassociated with me, the list goes on. I was a person of no value, all I knew well how to do was talk rubbish, start trouble, never completed tasks, you name it. In short, I failed at everything I did. At the age of 17 years, I knew I had to get my name back from all the negativity & be restored to honor. I decided to turn my life around hence chose to first seek knowledge & wisdom. I discovered, “Men fall because of having a broken focus.” & also learnt that, “Men choose their habits & their habits choose their future.” There, I knew exactly what to start working on. Get focused & set habits that will lead me towards my purpose in life as you will see;    1. Know your self & what your going after. Set specific target. Like any of you, I thought I knew my self until after several psychological personality tests & consultations from my mentors & people around me. I discovered my weakness & potential. My talents & gifts paved a way for me to become a servant leader so I chose to focus on that from the word go. I built habits like, partiality, prudence, listening,…

The Mistakes Young People Must Not Make Before Marriage

Marry now with the little you have. Don’t wait to be a millionaire, Have kids early so they grow along with you. Grow with your spouse and kids and succeed with them. Start your life now as you might still not succeed at your target age. Many people have waited to make so much money before they get married, years later money has refused to come, still no wife, no kids. When you’ve found true love don’t hesitate waiting for money, it may mean waiting till eternity.  So many young guys are pretending not to be financially buoyant enough to marry but are already living couples life, so many girls are even wasting away on our streets as sex toys for men old enough to be their grandfather still they tell you they are not matured enough for marriage.  When you marry early, you get preoccupied with your spouse and not end up as “pubic utility ” for all and sundry, good enough your kids grow along with you. Stop looking for a “ready made” spouse, work your spouse’s success with him/her grow your wealth together it gives you a sense of belonging and you’ll have a say.   If you have means, please marry early, don’t wait till you see your friends’ kids graduating while you still have yours in kindergarten classes, don’t wait to be 60 years and you still have kids in elementary school, don’t have kids young enough to be your grandchildren. Contentment comes not from much wealth but fewer wants, don’t wait to buy Range Rover Sport or build Mansions before you start you matrimony, ask your parents where and how they started, you’ll see that you’re even better off.  Trust me, it isn’t money that brings happiness but contentment, be happy with the little…

How Failure Was My Best Guide for Success

Have you ever thought for just a second that life is a daily pressure? The thinks we want to achieve or have? The power & rights we seek to have that comes with responsibilities? It’s all pressure! But for any progress to happen, we must learn how to live under pressure. It is said, you will never progress from a comfort zone of your life unless you have attained the maximum level of success (which is rarely possible for many). I have had my share of success and failure in my life. But today, I want to briefly address the issue of rising up again from failure. A few years I embarked on a journey to run for the office of Member of Parliament representing the entire Eastern Uganda. With a successful 8 year leadership career and great track record, I had not planned for the possibility of failure. I gave the campaign everything I had, my resources, time, energy, reputation, and everything I had, it was a do or die situation for me we can say 😊. However, the inevitable happened, dynamics in the politics (party godfathers) were not in my favor! Losing the election left me with broken focus, bankrupt, heart broken, homeless, devastated, in one word, “Catastrophe.” To me, it was my end. My view of failure when everything is lost then was more like a pre-death experience, only worse that I had to live through the after effects of shame, mockery, condemnation, debts, poverty, hunger, you name it. This all I faced. Every single day I sunk deep and deep into destruction. One day, I heard Oprah say, “Failure is just life trying to move us to another direction.” These words sunk deep in, “…it’s not the end of me after all.” I said to my…

Why Everybody Should Fast At Least Four Times A Year basing on Health and Spirituality!

The first thing that pops in people’s heads when they hear the word, “FAST” is denial of ‘FOOD’ & ‘PRAYER’. Well, they are wrong and yet at the same time partly right. I would like to think fasting is simply, “Disciplining of the body subjecting it to your control against all that has controlled it.” Ironically speaking, fasting is the art of denying your body and self things that are pleasing to it or you. For example, food, drugs (ps. Alcohol is a drug too.), movies, friendships, fan and many more pleasurable things in our lives. We all have things we crave to do or have, in turn… the urge to have them creates a patten of receiving, having, using…. the cycle goes on. I call it habit. Habits are controling, some are good, others are bad. Sadly, the bad ones always tend to be huge downsides in our lives. Hence leaving us vulnerable and most likely out of control. If we don’t check our habits, desires and way of life, we put our lives in a danger of having an addiction. We never want our lives to depend on a particular  substance, thing or activity. We want to be free!! We want to be in control. And thats why fasting is important! With reference to my personal life, am a great personality and pleasurable person to be around. However, I was so used to the idea of being taken as a good person that I completely forgot to watch out for those cropping and growing interests in particular substances like food and sugars, things such as electronics, technology, money… and activities such as romance, sex, friendship & relationship making and so much more. Not to say that this things are bad, however… the love of such things blinds you to their…

Open Letter To Mobile Money Service Providers, Stake Holders & Users

By this time round, 10 years and more ago, we would all be at either the post office or the taxi park trying to send money to our loved ones in the village. If I remember correctly, it cost my Father 500ugx shillings for a Post office Stamp to send money from Kampala to Mbale in an envelop which took a week to reach and even sometimes lost along the way. During emergencies and urgent times, he always sent money through a Taxi at the cost of 5000ugx shillings with assurance of her getting the money only if she is at the Mbale taxi part or slated stage at the time. Note, at this time around phones where scarce. To pass a message to the village, one either had to travel or visit. At this point, we also had banks, but people did not really feel comfortable using them for many reasons which at a time required one to know how to write, have identification and so on, which wasn’t a strong pursuit for many. Farther more, it was expensive and intimidating for the local community to use. (Still is today for some people) Hence people resorted to the alternatives at the time. The introduction of MOBILE BANKING however, it has greatly improved the exchange and transfer of money from one place to another. Dropping costs on communication and accessories such as phones, airtime and much more encouraged many to buy phones. Two years ago alone, over 18 million sim cards were registered to Ugandans cutting across all networks. This is mostly in Sub-Saharan Africa, a region with the most Mobile Banking users in the entire Africa. Sending money to the village unlike before is at the comfort of the sender especially with wide spread Mobile Banking agents of the…

“Learning Is An Endless Process That Can Never Be Institutionalized”

“I No Longer Dispute The Fact that says, “Experience Is The Best Teacher.” it feels so great actually sharing with you! For the past three years right after my undergrad, I could not help my self but think of how I actually needed to do a Postgraduate Masters. In fact, I enrolled for one at my very undergrad university. But, I did not find what I wanted so I quit. All I wanted is skills that will guide my career path and purpose in life and school surely could not offer me that! I never believed in the common saying, “Experience is the best teacher…” until I painfully experienced it. I like terming it as a Life class. “Every single minute that passes has taught me that learning is an endless process that can never be institutionalized or paid for by cash alone but through many other ways.”  Here are some of the processes I went through in my bid to learn. Observation: Every thing you see has a meaning. There is that confusing theory I over heard one of my friends talk about, the abstract reality.” According to this theory, they question everything you see. What if what is see is not really what is present? What if what you do not see is actually there? Well, as insignificant as it sounds, this theory has taught me how to critically observe and try to explain, read or study what I see. In tern, I have come to learn a lot without even touching a thing. Through observation alone, I have learnt to cook really great food. Not to brag, but my food is really awesome.  Self Study-Reading And Tutorials: So after quitting my studies, i could not afford to pay for tuition for any short courses simply. As a result,…

Apply Now! 10 Tips to Get to the Interview! Mandela Washington

10 Tips to Get to the Interview! Mandela Washington Fellowship!! Ideas from an alumnus who got there 3 times. In truth, it’s pretty competitive. The interest in the program as you are aware is huge. There are many young Africans with highly impressive resume (just like you) that are putting in applications. Last year alone, nearly 50,000 applied for the 1,000 slots. I got to the interview (semifinal) stage three consecutive times but it was only at the third attempt that I was considered. But all that shouldn’t unnerve you, at all. I am here to help you get selected. Haven both failed and succeeded in the applications process, I guess I now have a pretty good idea on what it takes to get in. First, let’s focus on getting that heartwarming email inviting you for the interview. To that end, the following ideas worked for me and I trust they will help you too. 1. Start the application on time. There are many questions to be answered and from my experience, especially on the essay sessions, your first answer may not be your last. So, it’s important to start writing early enough so that you will have ample time to review or revise as the need arises. 2. Be mindful of your writing. While you don’t need to be an English major to do well in the application, it’s important to make sure that you avoid silly spelling errors and grammatical mistakes. Those will quickly turn off your assessors and hurt your chances of advancing to the next stage. To overcome this, get someone (obviously someone that is good in English) to read your write ups before final submission. 3. Choose your words carefully. I think that one of the skills tested in the application process is your ability to tell…

34 Godly Principles of Starting Your Journey to a Successful Wealth Responsible Wellbeing #Business

If not every, then it’s most young people’s dream to become rich! “there, I said it… people fear doing that today.” We have created all sorts of moral citations especially as God fearing people, of how we need to suffer, how being wealthy is some sort of sin in away and where we cant explain it we say it’s blessing. “Hahaha…oh how we suffer in ignorance.” Not just you but me too here, I once lived in that kind of confusion. Well, since Christ came to Give us life, so we may live in abundance, I took it upon my self to Ask for guidance, seek wisdom and understand what principles can get me started. Now there are other things you have to consider, but for now I came across these principles and they have jump-started me off to my journey and I think it’s only wise for me to share them with you as well. 1) Do you know the first thing about the sky’s constellations & how they affect things on earth? ~Job 38:33 2) There is no new knowledge on Earth. Everything comes from the Bible. 3) If a murderer applies the law of sowing and reaping, it will work for him/her. 4) In terms of natural laws, the principal law is the law of gravity. 5) To overcome the law of gravity, the law of aerodynamics is put in motion. 6) You need money to advance the gospel. Our major business is the great commission. 7) Ephesians 4: 28. The purpose of work isn’t to make you rich 8) A worker gives. A business owner sows. There is a very big difference. 9) Man’s original habitat is Paradise. Poverty is a disease that can’t be cured by work. 10) Many in the body of Christ are…

Five Actual Practical Principles to Getting Your Life Promotion with God’s Full Support!

A wise man once said, “Men choose their habits, and their habits decide their future.” As simple as this statement sounds, well I guarantee you it contains the truth just as the one does; “Humble your self and you will be lifted.” Now this is a power principle that anyone to wants responsible success has to engrave on his or her hearts. Am sure by now you must know victories don’t come by chance… it takes a lot of had work and attention to details most ignored. My dream has always been aligned to leadership of the highest level and I can say boldly that I am making progress. From when I was a child, I was leader from all levels to where I am now at age of 25yrs; I can now stand and say, “I have made it.” But I still got more to add on as years pass by, pushing limits every-time at all costs… this is because; I keep down to earth. I know my mission, ‘I attain more power to do more good to people and work towards my goals.” However, it hasn’t been all a clean and straight road, I have made major mistakes in my life, which I like calling landmines. Hence, the purpose of this blog is to share with you 5 principles that will help you or guide you towards achieving true success and possibly avoid stepping in the same landmines I did:   1-Understand Your Mission, Not Position. Let your focus not be on loose site of the mission but rather discovering it. Position means nothing if you don’t understand your mission, but if you understand your mission; your position will not be changed to success. The first time I failed an election was when I planed to win the…

When we fall Short, We bury what we can’t fix.

All of you on Instagram know those Before & after pictures, for the ladies one picture before a beauty make over and another after… they really show a huge distinction. Well life is a little similar to that, today I want to talk about our to sides and versions of persons living within us, the weak and the strong but still in the same body.   I keep telling my self, “We are here, the strong & the weak (ME) living in the same body!” Am not an upright man pay say that is living up to society fittings. I am living in the twilight zone between two names, Emmanuel, which means, “God with us.” and Wabwire, which means, “Born at night.” Religion will tell you, if you fast enough, you kill the other side, but I keep telling my self, “We are still here! Emmanuel and Wabwire” And some times we get into a fight living in the same body, Sometimes Wabwire wants to quit and Emmanuel wants to stay. Sometimes Emmanuel wants to live holy and Wabwire wants to go to a strip-club. Emmanuel wants to read the bible, and Wabwire wants to watch porn and we are both living in the same body. Your are supposed to be a Christian, Emmanuel is but I still have to live with Wabwire. Sometimes I even wonder why God still reaches out and calls me, but all I know is, that’s his nature! He wants to use the weak, make them strong and pride in them.   Growing up was amazing especially when it meant living with a great Dad as mine even when I had never known my biological mom. In my late teens he was there to take me through the hard parts of life and my God…
